Dr Joanna Livingstone

I am a friendly, compassionate and intuitive Clinical Psychologist who believes that with some help and guidance, individuals can access their own strength and inner resources

Dr Joanne Livingstone is a Clinical Psychologist, Life coach and Nia blue belt movement and dance practitioner.

“Wellbeing in Motion was created by combining my passion for movement and dance with my skills and training in Psychology, health and wellbeing. I have been dancing as long as I have been able to walk, and trained in ballet until grade 6, followed by contemporary dance, biodanza, salsa and jazz dance. Unfortunately, I hurt my back in 2002 and could no longer dance, or walk for a period of time.

Healing Dance

I tried a range of holistic therapies and after a period of rehabilitation I discovered the Alexander and Feldenkrais Techniques which are both very healing techniques and helped with my posture and pain levels. I then discovered the Nia (Neuromuscular Integrative Action) technique which combines martial arts, healing arts and dance arts to provide a holistic and soulful dance/movement practice. I remember experiencing freedom in my body and mind and was more able to manage the pain, while moving and dancing to amazing music. I loved the Nia technique so much that I trained in the white belt in 2016 and the blue belt in 2017.

Wellbeing Programs

Since then I have created bespoke and unique workshops and programmes that I’ve developed through my own experience of health issues over the years, as well as my doctorate educated level of knowledge and training in healing, movement and dance techniques. I bring my enthusiasm, playfulness and joy to help energise, heal, calm and transform individuals. As a mindfulness teacher I also add the mindful element to enable a sense of calm and destressing for every workshop.

I have always loved travelling, experiencing different cultures and the ocean. I include visualisation and global music into the workshops to bring a magical experience, often taking you on a journey to expand imagination and possibility.

Life Coaching

Life coaching has also helped me to reach a place where I can balance home and work life which is a constant and ongoing balancing act. I can share these tools and tips using my training, energy and passion for helping people make the changes they want to make in their lives.

I am passionate about helping people to find the resources within themselves to make positive changes and build resilience. I have worked with a wide range of people from different backgrounds, ages and with varying health and wellbeing needs and love seeing the potential and possibilities for change and healing that everyone has within them.

Please join me for a workshop, programme or coaching course and you won’t be disappointed!
